Hi I am Yurina Nakazato (仲里佑利奈). I earned my Ph.D. in Physics in September 2025.
I am working as a Flatiron Research Fellow at the Center for Computational Astrophysics, Flatiron Institute, since October 2025.

My current email address is ynakazato[AT]flatironinstitute.org (The previous Utokyo account is expired). You can also contact me at yurina.nakazato.astro[AT]gmail.com. (Please replace [AT] with @.)

  • I wrote a blog about applying for postdoctoral positions: 海外ポスドク応募の備忘録 (sorry, only in Japanese — but there are plenty of resources in English!). Hope this helps especially for Japanese Ph.D. students who are applying for postdoctoral fellowships outside Japan.

Research Interest

  • First star formation
(considering the effect of Stream Velocity) See the Supersonic Project and our press release!

  • High-redshift galaxies
(modeling of emission lines from high-redshift galaxies by galaxy formation simulations) Our results of RIOJA project using JWST have been published as a press release. link
